The H Delay analog settings are noisy as heck and nasty sounding IMO.
A lot of waves stuff is pretty hit or miss for me (I love the API and the SSL stuff, but Im really not a. The mistake waves is making is having the analog noise ON by default. One of the few soft delays with actual character. The analog units that are being modelled are very noisy and each unit has it's own specific noise. Most though I think are just added noise for some sort of weird "We are classic analog" designers. but Gate or automate the signal afterwards. Massey Tape Delay (still waiting for AAX64) has an vintage setting that NOT only is noisy and crap but is Darker than the other types so I use. Personally they should leave that out and just make a little plug in called Vintage Noise with a few different setting and therefor we can use it creatively instead of as a setting on a plug in.īut then again.
